Event Info Let the chopping begin at the Flora-Bama's "Super" Bowl Chili Cook-Off on Super Bowl Saturday. Teams of three register beforehand and will even dress up to show team spirit. They work their chili magic to win with their version of the best chili ever, and will receive an award at the end of the day. If you don't want to cook, come by and sample the wide variety of dishes. The Flora-Bama continues this annual event that benefits the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life. Cooking begins at 10 a.m., with tickets being sold at 11:45 a.m. and tasting begins at 12 p.m. Entry fee includes three event t-shirts, draft beer, plus other party favors. Event Info The City of Gulf Shores is excited to continue its expanded role as lead organizers for the Gulf Shores Mardi Gras Parade. This history of the Gulf Shores Mardi Gras parade dates back to 1978 when a group of locals decided Gulf Shores needed a parade. Those locals formed the Pleasure Island Players and thus Mardi Gras began in Gulf Shores. A year later the Mystic Order of Shiners joined the Pleasure Island Players to become what is now the oldest parading order in Baldwin County.

Event Info Parade begins promptly at 2:00pm. Parade follows Hwy. 182 (Perdido Beach Blvd.) from west to east. Parade begins at the traffic light by Wintzell's Oyster House. Parade ends at traffic light at Hwy. 161 (Rite Aid). Route is approximately 2 miles long.
